Production Support Analyst

Currently our client is looking for an experienced, highly motivated and analytical corporate professional who will be responsible for supporting the current billing application. Strong problem solving and de-bugging skills are a must. Applicants must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities: Maintain, support, troubleshoot, resolve, and repair issues within existing tools independently or with minimal assistance. Resolve more complex, less defined issues. Able to work to identify scope of issues and recommend best practices to prevent further occurrences. Works independently in troubleshooting and providing solutions to unresolved hardware and software problems through trouble-ticket system Evaluates and recommends changes to support procedures as part of an ongoing improvement effort.; recommends hardware/software enhancements to increase productivity Collaborate with team members in the development, implementation and updates of operations standards for all network management solutions and processes. Participate in testing of new tools; provide appropriate feedback for tool improvement. Work with internal customers to gather requirements and understand goals. Maintain a support log and manage prioritization of issues and requests through regular communication with business users Provides functional guidance, advice, and/or training to less experienced support employees. Maintain devices in various network management applications. Ensure documentation of supported systems is current. Other duties as assigned
Additional Skills Required: Extensive experience supporting large enterprise systems UNIX experience must be comfortable working on a UNIX platform Advanced understanding of Java and Oracle technologies Strong knowledge of Billing Systems MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technically, both written and verbal Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and ask for help as necessary Strong organizational and analytical skills Knowledge of Peace Energy version 8 is a definite asset Energy industry experience is preferred
Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree or College Diploma from an accredited educational institution in Computer Sciences or related field
