Web Developer

DESCRIPTION:
The T.C. Chan Center for Building Simulation and Energy Studies is seeking a full-time freelancer/contractor for the development and support of a complex web-based application and database. This position needs to be filled immediately. Only candidates with the required experience need apply.

EDUCATION:
The web developer should have a BA/BS in Computer Science, MS/MA preferred, in Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent academic credentials with technical programming and/or database experience.

EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience developing web based applications is required. Experience with web design is a must.
• The developer must be experienced with programming and database design and administration.
• The developer must be experienced with development of distributed, highly available and high -traffic web applications.
• Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, be team-oriented and be able to balance multiple priorities.
• High level of motivation, attention to detail, clear communication skills and excellent problem-solving abilities desired.

REQUIRED PROFICENCIES:
• Programming languages: Java, HTML, JSP, CSS
• Framework: Google Web Toolkit (GWT)
• Database: MySQL
• Servers: Glassfish on Windows and Linux
